All wood components in the kit are pre-treated with a water-based wood preservative for maximum longevity. To order a BestClad casement sash replacement kit, we simply need to know the cladding color (white, sandstone, or bronze) and the daylight opening of your existing sash. As the name suggests, the daylight opening is the visible glass area. You will be prompted to enter the width and height of the daylight opening after adding the kit to your cart. Additionally, please select whether you would like a pair of new hinge arms includes in your kit. The optional hinge arms are shown on the left side of the product photo.
BestClad casement sash have "butt joints" in the corners of the aluminum cladding (see photo). If your window sash has 45-degree miter cuts, rather than "butt joints", your sash is probably an E-Clad sash. Please call our office if you need a sash kit for an E-Clad casement.

Ordering Instructions:

Step #1: Input the visible glass area for the sash. The visible glass area is part of the glass you can actually look through. A small portion of the insulated glass is tucked behind the wood parts of your sash; do not include this portion of the glass when measuring the visible glass area.

Step #2: Select whether you would like new hinge arms included in your kit.

Step #3: Select desired quantity and add to your cart.

Step #4: You will then be prompted to select the color in a popup window. Select color and add to cart (again) and that’s it!
If you are unsure whether you have BiltBest's BestClad Casement sash, we recommend checking the following:

BiltBest manufactured the BestClad casement series from 1982-2010. They have roll-form aluminum cladding on the exterior and wood on the interior of the sash. The BestClad sash can be identified by the butt joints on the exterior of the sash.

The interior wood parts of the BestClad casement sash measure 1-11/16”.

If your existing sash has dimensions listed in the drop down menus above, it is likely that you have a BiltBest casement window. While BiltBest occasionally manufactured custom size casement windows, the vast majority of their casement windows were one of these standard sizes. BiltBest sized all of their casement windows based upon the glass area, not the sash or frame dimensions.
In addition to making sure that your sash’s visible glass area (daylight opening) is listed at the top of this page, you can also check your sash’s exterior and interior dimensions using this chart: BestClad Casement Dimensions Schedule.pdf

If your sash is fixed (no operator handle and no lock/keeper), look for birch buttons around the interior of your window. BiltBest used these birch buttons to cover the screws that fixed the sash in place.
