BestWood Casement Sash Replacement Kit
The BestWood casement sash has wood on both the exterior and interior of the sash. If your BestWood casement sash is damaged or rotting, the sash kit is the most cost-effective replacement option. The kit includes the sash stiles and rails, weather stripping, and hinge arms. All wood components in the kit are pre-treated with a water-based wood preservative for maximum longevity. Sash should be primed and painted within 30 days of installation. Glass is not supplied with sash replacement kits; you will re-use the existing glass or purchase glass from a local glass supplier.
To order a BestWood casement sash replacement kit, we simply need to know the daylight opening of your existing sash. As the name suggests, the daylight opening is the visible glass area. You will be prompted to enter the width and height of the daylight opening after adding the kit to your cart. Additionally, please select whether you would like a pair of new hinge arms included in your kit. The optional hinge arms are shown on the left side of the product photo.

Ordering Instructions:
Step #1: Input the visible glass area for the sash. The visible glass area is part of the glass you can actually look through. A small portion of the insulated glass is tucked behind the wood parts of your sash; do not include this portion of the glass when measuring the visible glass area.
Step #2: Select whether you would like new hinge arms included in your kit.
Step #3: Select desired quantity and add to your cart.
If you are unsure whether you have BiltBest's BestWood Casement sash, we recommend checking the following:
BiltBest manufactured the BestWood casement series from 1982-2010. They are 100% wood on both the interior and exterior. In addition to a painted wood exterior, The BestWood sash can be identified by the butt joints on the exterior of the sash. If your sash has aluminum cladding on the exterior, you probably have an EClad or BestClad sash, not a BestWood sash.

If your existing sash has dimensions listed in the drop down menus above, it is likely that you have a BiltBest casement window. While BiltBest occasionally manufactured custom size casement windows, the vast majority of their casement windows were one of these standard sizes. BiltBest sized all of their casement windows based upon the glass area, not the sash or frame dimensions.
In addition to making sure that your sash’s visible glass area (daylight opening) is listed at the top of this page, you can also check your sash’s exterior and interior dimensions using this chart: BestWood Casement Dimensions Schedule.pdf
If your sash is fixed (no operator handle and no lock/keeper), look for birch buttons around the interior of your window. BiltBest used these birch buttons to cover the screws that fixed the sash in place.
